Soviet Reports

From the testimony of A. Tutenkova, April 11, 1973:
At the end of January [sic] 1942 the eyewitness [i.e. Tutenkova] saw a gas van (about 700-800 meters from the southern outskirts of Karasubazar, near an anti-tank trench), from which the Hitlerite executioners were taking something and throwing it into the trench. At one point from the direction of the anti-tank trench she heard heartbreaking human cries preceded by machine-gun shooting. Overall, the eyewitness at least 4 times saw the unloading of bodies [of the asphyxiated victims] from the gas vans. She heard from local residents that the Hitlerites were killing Krymchak Jews in the gas vans.
