From the testimony of Anna Myasnikova, who was born in 1895 and was living in Pskov during the war years:
The German monsters hated people of Jewish origin and did all they could to murder the ones who lived in Pskov. There was an incident in 1941 when a Jewish doctor who worked in Block No. 5 on Prodolnaya Street and several other Jews… were arrested by the Germans and taken away somewhere. There the Germans set their dogs loose on them. The dogs tore them to pieces. Those [Jews ] who tried to defend themselves were shot on the spot by the German monsters. Most of the Jews were taken by truck to Zheleznitsa village (in 1941), where they were shot. On one occasion several Jews were taken [to Zheleznitsa village] by truck. They were buried in a pit. Then my sister Mariya Romanova, who lived in Zheleznitsa village, took a shovel to uncover the pit in the chance that someone might have remained alive. . She did not manage to do so since a second truck approached and she had to flee. I cannot tell for sure whether the Jews were buried alive or shot first. Mariya Romanova can identify the exact burial location. Jews were also annihilated in various ways during the following years. I cannot tell you exactly where their burial place is.
