A memorial to the local victims of Nazis was unveiled in 2005 at the edge of the forest in Kurgan tract near Malaya Gat village. The memorial was erected on the initiative of the Orel District public organization "Vzlyot." The inscription on the memorial does not indicate the Jewish origin of the victims. The Russian inscription on the memorial plaque says: "In this forest are buried more than 2,000 Soviet civilians shot by Fascists in 1941 – 1943." The Russian inscription on the memorial plaque in the Medvedovskiy Forest says: "In this forest more than 350 innocent civilians and prisoners of war were annihilated by Fascists in 1943." The murder site in Nekrasovka village is not marked by any memorial.
