Save the Date: International Conference on 'The Holocaust, The Survivors, and the State of Israel'

27 November 2008

An international conference on "The Holocaust, the Survivors, and the State of Israel: On the Occasion of the Sixtieth Anniversary of the State of Israel" will be held at Yad Vashem from December 8-11, 2008. The Conference is being organized by the International Institute for Holocaust Research at Yad Vashem, and will take place in English and Hebrew.

Over three days, researchers and historians will address various issues relating to the Holocaust and the creation of the State of Israel, the survivors’ role in building the state and building new lives in Israel, as well as the transformation of Holocaust memory over six decades of commemoration.

The Conference will be open to the press in coordination with the Media Relations Department. Further details will follow next week.
