The annual Winter Seminar at Yad Vashem’s International School for Holocaust Studies draws to a close today. The seventeen-day seminar, sponsored by Asper International Programs in Holocaust Studies, was attended by dozens of participants from the United States, Australia, Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, Romania, Belarus and Montenegro (formerly Serbia). Together with Yad Vashem specialists and other guest speakers, they to learned about approaches to teaching antisemitism and the Holocaust in the classroom.

Romanian participant Ecaterina Maria Stanescu adds, “The Holocaust is not only a Jewish issue - it involves all of us.” The seminar was important for all participants; Tania Eshel, from Australia, said, “I wasn’t aware of how much I needed to expand my knowledge of Holocaust education.”
Yad Vashem’s International School for Holocaust Studies is responsible for education in Israel and abroad. Activities provided by the School include study seminars, teacher training programs, curricula development, overseas programming and publications. Seminars for educators are offered in over 10 different languages.
