Minister of Education and Culture of Cyprus to visit Yad Vashem Tomorrow

The Minister of Education and Culture of Cyprus, H.E. Prof. Costas Kadis will visit Yad Vashem on Wednesday, 22 June 2016. The Minister will tour the Holocaust History Museum, participate in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance, visit the Children’s Memorial and sign the Yad Vashem Guest Book.

In addition, the Minister will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Cyprus and Yad Vashem, which promotes professional development of Cypriot educators in the field of Holocaust Studies. The memorandum outlines several projects in the field of teacher-training, including seminars for Cypriot educators to be held at Yad Vashem. Press is welcome to attend and photograph the signing of this agreement.

There will be photo-ops in the Hall of Names and Hall of Remembrance, and at the signing of the Guest Book outside the Children's Memorial. Media interested in covering the visit must RSVP to simmy.allen@yadvashem.org.il, and arrive at the Hall of Names with a valid GPO card, by 12:30.
