Yad Vashem is closed on Saturdays and all Jewish Holidays.

Entrance to the Holocaust History Museum is not permitted for children under the age of 10. Babies in strollers or carriers will not be permitted to enter.

Preparatory Session for Israeli Arabs’ Visit to Auschwitz

On Wednesday, February 19th, Yad Vashem’s International School for Holocaust Studies led a training session for Israeli Arab representatives of “From Memory to Peace” - a group of Israeli Arab and Jewish public figures who will be visiting Auschwitz. The effort was initiated by Father Emil Shofani, an Arab priest and educator from Nazareth. Around 35 Arab members of the group participated in the training session.

10:10 - 10:30 “Our Fate - A Warning for Future Generations” - Introduction to the journey to Poland by Inbal Kvity-Ben Dov, Director of Study Seminars Department
10:40 - 11:40 Tour of the Holocaust History Museum
11:40 - 12:10 Tour of exhibit “No Child’s Play” - Children’s creations and games during the Holocaust, in the Art Museum.
12:15 - 12:30 Visit to Children’s Memorial
12:30 - 13:10 “And I Never Heard from Them Again” - testimony from Holocaust survivor, Israel Aviram, in the lecture hall, International School for Holocaust Studies.
13:10 Signing of guest book by representatives of the group and opportunity to answer journalists’ questions, lecture hall, International School

Following the session, participants received a learning unit on the Holocaust in Arabic.
