Yad Vashem Calls for Immediate Action Following UN Report on North Korea

18 February 2014

Following the release of the UN report on North Korea, Yad Vashem made the following statement:

The UN Report on North Korea must galvanize the world to act to stop these horrific crimes. The report documents crimes against humanity; a government-run institutionalized terrorization and abuse of men, women and children, including systematically starving people to death. Far too often, the international community expresses regret after the fact for not stopping such crimes as they occur. Today, it cannot be said that the world does not have the testimonies, the information and the understanding in real time that must bring about immediate action.
