As a result of the inauguration of the New Museum, and the security arrangements associated with the opening events, Yad Vashem will be closed to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday
The site will be open as usual from Thursday 17 March. The New Holocaust History Museum will be open to visitors from Sunday 27 March, 2005
(March 13, 2005 - Jerusalem) Due to the inauguration of the New Holocaust History Museum, and the security arrangements associated with the opening events, Yad Vashem will be closed to the public on Tuesday 15 March and Wednesday 16 March.
In a remarkable demonstration of solidarity, tens of presidents, heads of state and government ministers will come to Yad Vashem to participate in one of the most significant events in the history of the state - the inauguration of the New Holocaust History Museum at Yad Vashem. As a result of the cooperative efforts of the President’s Residence, the Foreign Ministry and Yad Vashem, tens of high-ranking delegations will come to the Museum’s dedication ceremony at Yad Vashem, and honor the state ceremony marking the Museum’s opening which will take place on Tuesday 15 March 2005.
The day following the state opening ceremony, on Wednesday 16 March, a ceremony of solidarity will take place in the new Museum’s Hall of Names, with the participation of all the heads of state. Afterwards, they will take part in a special session under the heading: “Remembering the Past, Shaping the Future.”
