13 December 2012

This week, twenty Polish political leaders, including mayors, members of regional and city councils and marshals, are attending an intensive seminar at Yad Vashem’s International School for Holocaust Studies in the first of its kind seminar for Poles. The seminar is coordinated with the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum. The seminar program was tailor designed for the participants, and includes in-depth tours of the Yad Vashem campus and museums, meetings with Holocaust survivors, historians and educators, and discussions on historical issues and current Holocaust representation and memorials. The seminar also enables the participants to meet with the deputy major of Jerusalem, speaker of the Knesset and representatives from the Ministry of Education.

Yad Vashem’s International School for Holocaust Studies conducts dozens of seminars for educators, decision makers and opinion shapers from around the world annually, and is currently active in some 25 countries globally.
