Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds to Visit Yad Vashem Tomorrow

Will Speak on Holocaust Education and Antisemitism at the International School for Holocaust Studies

(June 8, 2004 - Jerusalem) Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds will visit Yad Vashem tomorrow, Wednesday, June 9, 2004. Following is her itinerary:

11:00: Arrival at Yad Vashem (Entrance to Yad Vashem Art Museum)

11:00: Tour of the “No Child’s Play” exhibition [The tour is closed to the press;

photos will be made available on request]

11:30: Wreath-laying ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance

11:40: Children’s Memorial and signing the guest book

11:45: International School for Holocaust Studies: Presentation of Yad Vashem’s educational program, “Remembering the Holocaust and Combating Xenophobia”

12:00: Address by Foreign Minister Freivalds on Holocaust education in Sweden and the struggle against antisemitism

12:15: Meeting with educators from the International School for Holocaust Studies [closed to the press]

The visit is open to the press, except as noted above.
