Yad Vashem is closed on Saturdays and all Jewish Holidays.

Entrance to the Holocaust History Museum is not permitted for children under the age of 10. Babies in strollers or carriers will not be permitted to enter.

Minister President of Schleswig-Holstein to Visit Yad Vashem Thursday

H.E. Mr. Torsten Albig, Minister President of Schleswig-Holstein, and Educational Minister Dirk Lossack will visit Yad Vashem, Thursday, 7 April 2016. The Minister President will tour the Holocaust History Museum, participate in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance, visit the Children’s Memorial and sign the Yad Vashem Guest Book.

There will be photo-ops in the Hall of Names, Hall of Remembrance and signing of the Guest Book outside the Children's Memorial. Media who are interested in covering the visit must RSVP to simmy.allen@yadvashem.org.il, and arrive at the Hall of Names with valid GPO card, by 10:00.

In addition, the Minister President will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Education and its Israeli counterpart at Yad Vashem. The MOU outlines several projects in the field of teacher training in Holocaust studies, including a seminar for German educators to be held at Yad Vashem. This is the newest in a series of memorandums signed with Israel promoting Holocaust education in Germany, including the lander of Badden-Württemberg, Hamburg and Hessen.
