Yad Vashem Signs Research Agreement with German Foundation

05 October 2017

Yad Vashem and the German Resistance Memorial Foundation (GDW) signed an agreement of cooperation for the planning and research of the Foundation's upcoming exhibition, "Silent Heroes in the German-occupied Territories, 1939-1945" which will be implemented in 2018-2020.

For several years, the Foundation and Yad Vashem have been cooperating in researching and uncovering stories and cases of the rescue of Jews in Germany for possible recognition as Righteous Among the Nations.

The current agreement of cooperation was signed on 4 October 2017 at the Israeli Embassy in Germany by Israel's Ambassador to Germany H.E. Mr. Jeremy Issacharoff and Director of the German Foundation Prof. Johannes Tuchel.  Also in attendance was Director of the Righteous Among the Nations Department at Yad Vashem, Irena Steinfeldt.
