Prime Minister of Saxony at Yad Vashem Tomorrow

Agreement on Co-operation between Yad Vashem and Dresden State Art Collections to be Signed

The Prime Minister of Saxony, Germany, Prof. Dr. Georg Milbradt, will visit Yad Vashem tomorrow, May 2, 2007. During the course of his visit, an agreement between Yad Vashem and the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden [SKD] (The Dresden State Art Collections, encompassing twelve art Museums) on cooperation in the arts.

The agreement will be signed by Prof. Dr. Martin Roth, Director General/Chaiman of the SKD, Avner Shalev, Chairman of Yad Vashem, and Nathan Eitan, Director General of Yad Vashem, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Milbradt. The agreement indicates the parties intention to create a unique exhibit that will display in a form of a dialogue master pieces the Dresden collections, with artworks from Yad Vashem’s 10,000 piece collection, of art created in the crucible of the Holocaust.

Dr. Milbradt will also present Yad Vashem with financial support for the “Spots of Light: To Be a Woman in the Holocaust” exhibit, currently running in the Exhibitions Pavilion.
