WE INVITE YOU TO TAKE PART IN CREATING A “PERSONAL FILE” FOR HOLOCAUST VICTIMS
The campaign aims to cluster together in a "personal file" information records that are contained in Yad Vashem's online "Central Database of Shoah Victims’ Names" and that are related to one individual.

What do I need to do?
Simple! Browse the "Central Database of Shoah Victims’ Names" on Yad Vashem’s website, find information records that you think are related to one person, and fill out a suggestion to bind them in one "personal file."
To be successful in this mission you don't have to be a historian or an expert in family research. All you need is common sense, patience, and a bit of luck ...

Why is it important?
Yad Vashem's Central Database of Shoah Victims’ Names contains information on individuals from millions of testimonies and documents. In many cases, we have various records relating to the same person and, if we could only group them all together, we could tell a more complete story of their life and fate.
Yad Vashem has managed to create hundreds of thousands of such "personal files" so far. The new format of the “Central Database of Shoah Victims’ Names” allows anyone to suggest additional "personal files".

How do I start?
We recommend starting with your family name or the family names of relatives. The close family circle is well known to you and will make it easier to associate pieces of information with each other. You can also start with a common surname and first name. You will get many results and you can try to sort them.

We need your help to create a "personal file" for each Holocaust victim.
