Yad Vashem is closed on Saturdays and all Jewish Holidays.

Entrance to the Holocaust History Museum is not permitted for children under the age of 10. Babies in strollers or carriers will not be permitted to enter.

Jiří Valdštýn-Karlínský

Born in Prague, Austro-Hungarian Empire, in 1894. Died in Prague, Czechoslovakia, in 1971.

Physician and lecturer at the university. Member of the Ältestenrat in Theresienstadt. Born 1868 in Heilbronn, Germany. Deported to the Theresienstadt Ghetto in July 1942. Died of a heart attack while giving a lecture in October 1944.

Rabbi of the Jewish Congregation in Vienna and lecturer at the university. Deputy Head of the Ältestenrat and from September 1944, Head of the Ältestenrat in Theresienstadt. Born 1905  in Lvov, Austro-Hungarian Empire. Deported to the Theresienstadt Ghetto in January 1943. After the war, he moved with his wife and son to Rome, where he died in 1989.

Electrical engineer. Member of the Ältestenrat and the Head of the Production Department in Theresienstadt.
Born 1906 in Prague, Austro-Hungarian Empire. Deported to the Theresienstadt Ghetto with the Aufbaukommando (Work detail) in December 1941. After the war he lived in Prague, where he died in 1978.

Born 1882 in Sommerhausen, Germany. Lived in Munich. Deported to the Theresienstadt Ghetto in June 1942. In October 1944, transported to Auschwitz, where he was murdered.
