Karel Fleischmann (1897 - 1944)
Born in Klatovy, Bohemia, Fleischmann studied medicine in Prague and was active in establishing the avant-garde artists union, Linnie (The Line). In 1942, he was interned in Terezin. In the ghetto, he served first as deputy and then director of the Social Care Department. In 1944, he was deported to Auschwitz, where he was murdered.
