Born in Warsaw, Trębacz studied at the Krakow Academy of Arts and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He exhibited internationally, gained recognition and was awarded several prizes. In 1940, Trębacz was deported to the city’s ghetto. On January 29, 1941, at 80 years old, feeble and hungry, he starved to death. He was buried the following day in the Lodz Jewish cemetery.
