Zvi and Rivka Weisman sent this parting letter to their children, Lonek and Chaim Akiva in Eretz Israel on 9 April 1943 from the Czortkow ghetto
After writing the letter, the Weismans left their hiding place in the Czortkow ghetto and were murdered by the Germans.
Czortkow, 9th April, 1943
Our dear, beloved children,
As you can see, G-d has had mercy upon us, saving us till today from extermination, and this is the fortune that G-d has given us. The final story begins now and we don't know whether this time too, G-d will want to save us. I am writing afew parting words.
Be healthy and happy and may the merciful G-d protect you from all trouble. May you have a good life, may you always have good fortune and good from within,
Amen.
The letter was given to Yad Vashem by Niva Regev (née Weisman), the daughter of Chaim Akiva Weisman at a collection day in Rehovot.
