Menachem Ptasznik immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1924. His parents remained in Stopnica together with the rest of the family.
In their final letter to Menachem the family described what had happened to them under German occupation:
Beloved children,
I received your greetings from Mr Nozyc.
I can say that, thank G-d, all of us are healthy.
Our house has burned down and we are all living with Godowski in the courtyard…
Let us know how you are doing.
We bless you all.
We love you,
Mother and Father.
Special blessings to our grandchildren.
Rachel Alperin (née Ptasznik) gave Yad Vashem the letter from her grandfather at a collection day in Kiryat Motzkin.
