This postcard was written by Roza Guttman from Budapest, to her brother-in-law Vilmos Weisz, on 5 November 1944. Roza threw the postcard from the train at the border between Austria and Hungary on her way to Ravensbrück. It seems that the postcard was then posted by a passerby and so reached its destination.
In the postcard Roza asks Vilmos to find her sister and nephew, Berta and Josef Libovitz, in the Budapest ghetto and to take care of them.
After the war Roza returned to Budapest, where she was reunited with Berta and Josef. Berta died a few days later and Josef joined a Youth Aliyah group and immigrated to Israel in 1949.
Josef Libovitz kept the postcard, and in June 2011 he gave it to Yad Vashem at a collection day in Holon.
