David Kredo was born in Sokołów, Poland in 1916 to Dov and Sara Kredo. When he was one year old the family moved to Warsaw. In 1924 Dov, Sara and their eight children immigrated to Eretz Israel and settled in Rehovot.
When he was 14 or 15 years old, David acted as a journalist for the children's newspaper Small Weekly, printed in Janusz Korczak's orphanage in Warsaw. Korczak himself edited the paper. David's articles, which he sent from Eretz Israel, were featured in the paper under the name "Dodiku Palestyny".
Nili Dogon, David's daughter, donated a thank-you letter to Yad Vashem, that had been sent to David by Janusz Korczak from Warsaw on 18 March 1929.
