My grandmother, Inge Apt, was born in Germany but grew up in Holland to where her parents fled upon the rise of Hitler.
During the war she was interred in the Westerbork concentration camp together with her parents. They were the only family who survived, all the others were killed by the Nazis.
When I was younger, I would often imagine what it would have been like had my grandmother's family survived.
These childhood thoughts are the basis for my work.
For this series of postcards I have chosen to show figures that could possibly have been my family were it not for the Holocaust.
These figures have names but no identity.
