The seminar for Educators on College Campuses is a nine-day, intensive program for educators who teach on College Campuses in both formal and informal educational settings. The seminar focuses on helping educators develop the skills needed to create programs and content for Shoah studies that can be used in a variety of settings and time constraints and to deliver those programs in the most compelling way possible. The seminar is historically based, with interdisciplinary approaches to enable the educators to understand the Shoah in its complexity. By using the unique Yad Vashem pedagogical approach to history, modeled lessons, and workshops plus the ongoing collegial interaction during the seminar, participants will be engaged and empowered to create individual Shoah Study programs tailored to their specific circumstances on campus.
Included in the topics studied, under the guidance of world famous professors, teachers, and educators are; The History of Antisemitism, The Polish Jewish Community Between the Wars, What is Unique About Nazi Antisemitism?, Modern Antisemitism, The Jewish Response to the Rise of Nazism in Germany 1933 -38, Life in the Ghettos, Moral Dilemmas During the Shoah, The Unique Role of Women in the Resistance Movements, Using the Shoah to Enhance the study of Jewish Life Cycle, Rabbinic Leadership During the Shoah, The Camps, Returning to Life After the Holocaust, Post Holocaust Theological Responses, Holocaust Denial and Distortion and Islamic Antisemitism.
