The Prisoner of War identity tag of Yitzhak Sternheim - A Soldier of the Jewish Brigade who was taken prisoner by the Germans

Yitzhak Sternheim immigrated to Eretz Israel before World War II. After war broke out he joined the Jewish Brigades of the Pioneer Corps and fought with the British troops. In Greece they were captured and sent with other prisoners of war to a POW camp where he received the identity tag stamped with prison number 8266. Yitzhak managed to escape from the camp and join the Yugoslav partisans.
