In the early 1930s, Bracha Katz from Krakow was the leader of the "Bruriya" youth movement for women and girls affiliated with the "Mizrahi" movement.
In 1934, in anticipation of her immigration to Eretz Israel (Mandatory Palestine), Bracha received a parting gift from the girls in "Bruriya" – a tablecloth embroidered with their names. Bracha immigrated to Eretz Israel with her husband Yehoshua and her son Shmuel. The majority of the girls whose names appear on the tablecloth remained in Europe, and most were murdered in the Holocaust.
