Woolen shawl that kept baby Miriam warm when her family hid in the woods
To escape the harsh conditions in the Zhetl ghetto in Poland, Yocheved Minuskin and her husband fled to the forest with their small children. A non-Jewish acquaintance gave Yocheved the shawl to wrap her baby daughter Miriam in and keep her warm. The family wandered for two years in the forests until the area was liberated.
