This cap, part of the school uniform of the Jewish Real ("Reali") Gymnasium in Kovno, Lithuania belonged to Shmuel Borstein. Shmuel, who was active in the Maccabi sports club in Kovno, came to Eretz Israel (Mandatory Palestine) in the 1930s to participate in the second Maccabiah games, and stayed. His family remained in Kovno and was murdered during the Holocaust
