Jewish badge from Greece

Distinctive Jewish badge (yellow star) that the Jews of Greece were forced to wear on their clothing in accordance with the directives of the German occupation.

Jewish badge that belonged to Jacques Leon from the city of Thessaloniki (Salonika), Greece.

Jacques Leon and his extended family fled from the Salonika ghetto and were assisted by Christian families who provided them with hiding places and false documents. These families were later recognized by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations.
