International Virtual Name-Reading Ceremony Marking Holocaust Remembrance Day 2020

#RememberingFromHome #ShoahNames

To mark Holocaust Remembrance Day 2020, Yad Vashem launched a global initiative entitled The International Virtual Name-Reading Campaign. The public was asked to record themselves reciting the names of Holocaust victims and upload the video to their social media platform using the hashtags #RememberingFromHome #ShoahVictims. The response was overwhelming. People of all ages, from all walks of life, and from all corners of the world joined this global initiative. In a year when the public could not gather as groups (due to Covid-19 restrictions), they were still able recite and share the names of Holocaust victims from their homes.

At the end of Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yad Vashem gathered many of these moving videos and combined them into two International Virtual Name-Reading Ceremonies.
