Summer Activities and Visits

During July we hosted some very special groups at the campus of Yad Vashem. Many of our Christian Friends may not know that it is possible to spend an entire day at the Yad Vashem campus and experience new sights even as a repeating visitor. It is also possible to have a special tailor-made program with a survivor testimony, special tour and sometimes even to see something behind-the-scenes.

Explorations Group came to us through the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC. The young academics came to Israel for several weeks to work in archeological digs in addition to gaining a deep understanding of Israel's key institutions and sights. At Yad Vashem the group saw the Holocaust History Museum led by a Yad Vashem guide, heard a survivor testimony by Ms. Reena Quint and had a workshop with Ms. Stephanie McMahon-Kaye at the international School for Holocaust Studies.

Another key donor of ours ICEJ (International Christian Embassy Jerusalem) has a specific youth program called Arise. Its director Jani Salokangas brought the Arise International Summer Tour to Yad Vashem. These youth toured the Holocaust History Museum as well as met with Dr. Susanna Kokkonen by the trees of the Righteous Among The Nations.

Finally, we were privileged to host the First Nations of Canada Group under the leadership of Yad Vashem's long-term friends Pastors Raymond and Jean Mclean. The group was deeply impacted by their time at Yad Vashem, which we ended by a special meeting at the Avenue of the Righteous.
