The beginning of June 2018 saw young Christian leaders participate in a seminar at the International School for Holocaust Studies. As these future Christian leaders from around the globe left Yad Vashem to their nations - promising to be in contact and share their experiences with others - new visits and events took place on the campus.
The International School for Holocaust Studies hosted its International Conference for educators on the theme "Holocaust Education: Time, Place and Relevance". Hundreds of educators from 50 nations participated in the plenary sessions and workshops with world renowned experts and directors of Holocaust memorial institutions. Several Christian Leadership Seminar graduates traveled to Israel from afar to participate in this conference.
Yad Vashem hosted HRH Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge, who visited Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center, on Tuesday, 26 June 2018, as part of the first ever, official British royal family visit to Israel. Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev accompanied the Prince William throughout his visit to Yad Vashem. Prince William toured the Holocaust History Museum, participated in a memorial ceremony in the Hall of Remembrance, visited the Children’s Memorial, and signed the Yad Vashem Guest Book writing: “I am honoured that my own great grandmother is one of these Righteous Among the Nations”.
These different events and visits show the relevance of Yad Vashem's Mission in today's world. If you would like to support our educational work, please, write to us:
