Aaron Arnold Both was born in 1907 in Vienna, Austria. He immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1933. Following the death of his mother Sheindel, his father Eliezer and brother Robert followed him to Eretz Israel.

The photograph, the wine glass next to Robert and the matzah cover in front of Eliezer were donated to Yad Vashem by Nurit Spyer, Arnold Both’s daughter, through the Gathering the Fragments campaign.
