Murder Story of Sevastopol Jews in Tkent-Orla

On July 12 or 13, 1942 some Sevastopol Jews, together with Soviet prisoners of war, were shot to death at anti-tank trenches at Tkent-Orla, about 1 kilometer from Staryye Shuli village, and buried there.

... We, the undersigned… have ascertained that upon the arrival of the German fascist occupiers in Sevastopol on July 1, 1942 terrible atrocities were committed against innocent Soviet civilians and prisoners of war.… Civilians [i.e. residents] of Staryye Shuli village… who have confirmed the shooting of the Jews, noted in their testimonies that about ten days after the occupation of Sevastopol they happened to be in the POW camp, located at that time in the yard of the Staryye Shuli kolkhoz…. In this camp they saw prisoners of war, wives of the military personnel, and Jews. The prisoners of war said… that all of them had been brought there from Sevastopol and that most of them had been shot by the Germans at Tkent-Orla, 1 kilometer from Staryye Shuli. The second time they [the witnesses] were at the camp there were neither civilians [Jews] nor prisoners of war, except for a small group that was left to perform forced labor. According to the testimonies of the survivors, more than 250 people were shot at the place mentioned....

From the testimony of Romanova-Petrova:
…On July 11 they [the Jews] were ordered to come to Dinamo stadium with their… valuables. On July 12, 1943 [sic] they were loaded onto partly covered trucks, they were forbidden to take their belongings. The trucks headed toward… Staryye Shuli, where the Jews were shot to death and buried....
