From the testimony of Nadezhda Paegle:
... I, Nadezhda Ivanovna Paegle, the daughter of parents who were murdered by the German monsters… am hereby informing you about the atrocities committed by the German executioners towards my parents and other 12 persons…. On November 21, 1941 at 7 a.m. the Germans surrounded our courtyard... building no. 14…. All the residents were driven out to the street and a search was conducted of the apartments…. Among the residents were: Isaak, Galina, [and] Evgeniya Garelik; Chanah, Riva , [and] Ida Sussel; Abraham, Chaya,[and]Isaak Beider; Maria and Vladlen Goncharuk…. On the morning of November 22, at 7 a.m. Abraham Beider, who was wounded in the leg and slightly below the heart [returned to the building]. Some time afterwards Vladlen Goncharuk, who had been wounded in the hand, also entered. Vladlen told me about the fate of all [the victims], including my parents. Vladlen saw with his own eyes how my father fell [into the pit], my mother hearing the [other] women's moaning [said] "Finish [us] off already!" The mad monsters continued to shoot and the moaning was silenced. The victims were shot on November 21, 1941 at 6 p.m. near the Massandra wine cellar (shooting site). Vladlen managed to survive when one furious German monster missed and shot him only in the hand. When [the traitor] Osechkina saw those who came back, she went right away to inform the German executioners about them. When I saw this, I immediately told the men. Vladlen was able to escape, he ran to the forest. Since Beider was dying, he couldn't escape. The traitor Osechkina came by truck with the [Nazi] monsters, who took away the half-dead Beider and shot him to death. Vladlen succeeded in escaping....
