Murder Site
Milosaiciai
Lithuania
Sixty Jewish young men from Plunge, who had been sent to forced labor on nearby estates, were murdered in the forest near the village of Milosaiciai, six kilometers south of Plunge.

Just before they were executed the victims attempted to fight back, but they were all ultimately shot by Lithuanians. The exact date of the murder operation is unknown; it probably occurred at the end of 1941.

Henya Gornstein-Bunkas, born in Plunge (Lithuania), testifies:
In Milosaiciai, nine kilometers from Plunge, there is a mass grave of sixty strong Jewish young men. They were led to their death quickly, since there were few murderers escorting them. People saw how they walked; some were carrying shovels to dig their own pits. They reached the place by foot. At the last moment, just before they were killed, one of them began to shout that they should fight for their lives; while being liquidated they should take their murderers with them. They began to move as one, assaulting the murderers. Some fell right away; others managed to get closer to the bandits and wrestle with them, although their hands were bound. Screams and loud noises mixed with the sounds of shooting. A peasant who lived fifty meters away saw and heard what happened.
