On April 18, 1942 Germans and local policemen rounded up about 300 (or 140, according to one source) old people and children and killed them just outside Połonka.

Report of the head of the Gendarmerie of Baranowicze to the head of the Gendarmeries of White Ruthenia (Belarus) Eibner I was basically assigned by the regional commissar in Baranovichi [Baranowicze], as far as the forces at my disposal would allow this, to liberate the region, especially the countryside, from the Jews. The large scale [anti-Jewish murder] operations carried out during the last months resulted in the escape of a large part of the Jews and in their joining partisan groups. To prevent further escapes I liquidated those Jews who were still present in the localities of Polonka and Mir. A total of 719 Jews were shot.
