Einsatzkommando 1a was subordinate unit of Einsatzgruppe A, established in the middle of 1942. At the end of 1942, the name of the unit was changed to Einsatzkommando. In 1942, the unit was headed by Martin Sandberger, commander of SD Police in Estonia, and Karl Tschierschky; from November 1942-June 1943 by Erich Isselhorst; and from August 1943 by Bernhard Baatz. The unit was disbanded in summer 1944.
