Pliski
Ukraine (USSR)
Pliski was occupied by German troops in September 1941. According to the testimony of a Jewish survivor, three large Jewish families remained in the village. They were ordered to wear white armbands with a yellow star and were recruited for forced labor. The Jewish children were first allowed to visit the local school that was reopened by the German authorities, but they were soon expelled. Most of Pliski's Jews were shot in the village in December 1941. On March 19, 1943 at least 4 Jews from Pliski were arrested and sent to Bakhmach, where they were shot by Germans on March 20, 1943. Pliski was liberated by the Red Army in September 1943.
