Murder Site
From Narodichi to Katsovshchina Road
Ukraine (USSR)
According to the witness Semen Friedman, on August 28 (or, according to other sources, in September 1941), the Germans started to search for Jews in Narodichi with the help of local police forces. The Germans arrested the Jews and took them to the clubhouse of Narodichi. On the way local Ukrainian policemen beat the Jews. The Germans registered the Jews after they had arrived at the clubhouse. Then the Germans separated the Jews into groups of women, men, and children. On the next day, at 10 a.m., the Germans gave shovels to 50 Jewish men and forced them to dig pits. The Germans then took the Jews to the pits located on the road between Katsovshchin and Narodichi, where they were shot to death. At first the Germans shot the men, then the women, and finally the children. In all 350 Jews were killed.
