Yad Vashem is closed on Saturdays and all Jewish Holidays.
Entrance to the Holocaust History Museum is not permitted for children under the age of 10. Babies in strollers or carriers will not be permitted to enter.
Mordechai Wiesel was born in 1915 in the town or Biechken, in the district of Marmoresch, Czechoslovakia, the thirteenth child of 21 brothers and sisters. With the outbreak of WWII, Biechken came under Hungarian sovereignty, and Mordechai was drafted into compulsory military service.
