Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 9, 2004, Yad Vashem will mark 66 years since Kristallnacht (Night of the Broken Glass). Approximately 300 students will participate in a seminar at Yad Vashem which will include lectures, a movie on the burning of the Buehl synagogue, testimony from survivor Ehud Lev, and a performance of “Destination Unknown”.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the students will participate in a memorial ceremony at 12:00 noon in the Hall of Remembrance.
Following is the schedule for the morning:
08:45: Lecture by Dr. Guy Meron (Yad Vashem), “Germany in the years 1933-1939: the dynamics of Nazi policy.”
09:30: Movie on the burning of the Buehl synagogue; Testimony from Ehud Lev
10:00: “Destination Unknown” performance by the Kibbutz Theatre Company
11:00: Guided tours at Yad Vashem
12:00: Memorial Service at Hall of Remembrance
The events will be held in cooperation with the Information Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and the Education Director of Jerusalem Municipality.
