Holocaust Remembrance Day at Yad Vashem: Hundreds of Youth Salute Holocaust Survivors in Ceremony for Youth Movements

On Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Day, April 16, 2007, at 17:30, hundreds of youth and Holocaust survivors will join together to participate in the Ceremony for Youth Movements at Yad Vashem. Within the framework of the day's central theme, Bearing Witness, the Youth Movements will salute the contribution Survivors have made to building and establishing the State of Israel.

The ceremony will take place with the participation of Shmuel Aboav , Director General of the Ministry of Education, Avner Shalev, Chairman of Yad Vashem, Sarah Tesler, representing Holocaust survivors, and Miriam Frank, representing the Youth Movements. Singer Kobi “Subliminal” Shimoni and Grammy award winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari, will perform a new composition, “Adon Olam - Ad Matai.” Also performing will be the Youth Movements Choir, directed by Adi Ron. Masters of Ceremonies: Ido Mussari and Lucy Dubinchik.

The Ceremony will be broadcast live on Channel 1.

The ceremony has been organized by Yad Vashem in conjunction with the Ministry of Education’s Youth and Social Administration, the Center of Organizations of Holocaust Survivors in Israel, and the “Generation to Generation-Bearers of Holocaust and Heroism Legacy” Organization.
