Raisa Galperina, was born in 1927 in Berdichev, she was taken on September 15, 1941, together with thousands of Jews from her city, to the airfield of Shlemarka, where they were shot. Raisa succeeded in hiding.

Afterwards, under an assumed identity, she was sent with many orphans to perform forced labor in Germany. There she was imprisoned in a concentration camp until she was liberated.
