This exhibition spotlights the lifestyles, and some of the religious practices of Orthodox Jewry in the years preceding the Holocaust, during the Holocaust, and in the immediate years following the Holocaust. It provides a rare glimpse into a world of tremendous religious faith and belief and allows us, through the images and through the testimony, to explore their experiences and their fate.
The video testimony is taken from the CD “Years Wherein We Have Seen Evil” - which is part of an educational unit* produced by the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem. The unit focuses on the story of religious Jewry during the Holocaust within a general historical context as well as broader Jewish context.
