Young adults in a temporary camp, awaiting immigration to Eretz Israel – Sunium, Greece, 1945
Out of almost 300,000 Jews who were in DP camps in central Europe, about two thirds eventually came to Eretz Israel. All over Europe, young people organized themselves into groups according to political affiliation, youth movement, or simply location, and made preparations for illegal immigration to Eretz Israel, working in coordination with “Aliya Bet” organizations.
