The Chair for the Study of Resistance During the Holocaust

In Tribute to William Cooper

The objective of this newly established research chair is to study resistance against Nazi Germany and its collaborators during the Holocaust, which has not been researched enough.  The Chair helps to support both publications and research on resistance.  It has already assisted in the publication of a very important and original document on youth in the Kovno Ghetto and their actions in the underground and in the forced labor camp of Kaufering.  Two more publications are forthcoming.  The Chair will initiate research that shows both Jewish resistance and non-Jewish resistance by individuals and groups, and the grassroots responses of those who would not be silent.
