A group of Norwegian pastors and Christian leaders led by Pastor Terje Iverod visited Israel for a special repentance including a time at Yad Vashem. Mr. Dag Juliussen from ICEJ Norway accompanied the group. Here Yad Vashem's International Relations Division Managing Director Mr. Shaya Ben-Yehuda met with the group leader Terje Iverod.
A Malaysian group of Christians For Israel visited Yad Vashem for a guided tour as well as a special meeting for Q&A with Dr. Susanna Kokkonen. Here the group is pictured at the meeting together with their hostess.
A group of young American Christians affiliated with the House of Prayer movement visited with their worship leader Kim Hager for a special time at Yad Vashem. Mr. Stefan Vochos, originally from Romania shared a special story about a ring purchased years ago in Romania. Mr. Vochos donated this gold ring to the Collection of Artifacts from the Holocaust period. Here Mr. Vochos is pictured handing over the ring accompanied by Yad Vashem staff.
Dr. Susanna Kokkonen toured the UK including Northern Ireland in November. Her program included church events as well as meetings with leaders of various organizations. She participated in the annual Night to Honor Israel in London. In Northern Ireland she met with Mr. Michael Doherty (right) and Ms. Isobel Kuzma (left), local representative of the Christian Friends of Yad Vashem.
A church group from California including Mr. Carry Summers, the COO of the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC visited for a guided tour of Yad Vashem. They were guided by Liz Elsby, and are pictured here before the entrance to the main historic museum.
A Norwegian group led by Karine Marie Morelle (right) and including many members of the Salvation Army corps in Norway visited to hear about the work of Yad Vashem as well as for a time of reflection by the tree planted in honor of the Norwegian Underground.
On 27 October at the 32nd annual Night to Honor Israel at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas Managing Director of Yad Vashem’s International Relations Division Shaya Ben Yehuda (left) received a second-year donation from the John Hagee Ministries of Pastor John (right) and Diana Hagee on behalf of Yad Vashem. The donation will be used to educate needy Israeli youth of the periphery and to have seminars for soldiers at Yad Vashem. The Hagees are known supporters of Israeli causes and have visited Yad Vashem with important delegations that they regularly bring to Israel.
During October 2013 Dr. Susanna Kokkonen, Director, Christian Friends of Yad Vashem toured the United States for meetings and Yad Vashem events at churches. One of the event hosts was a recent Yad Vashem donor, the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. Dr. Carlos Quiroa, a well-known pastor and the National Director for ICEJ Mexico visited with a large tour group including the Museum as well as a special time with Dr. Alex Avram (pictured), Director of the Hall of Names at Yad Vashem. Pastor Carlos Quiroa's group are pictured listening to Dr. Avram's presentation.
A very important denomination the Southern Baptist Convention's leadership visited Israel, brought by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism. The delegation of senior leaders had a guided tour of Yad Vashem including a meeting with Managing Director, International Relations Division Mr. Shaya Ben-Yehuda (left).
During the annual Feast of Tabernacles celebration, Christian Friends of Yad Vashem hosted guests from abroad and various leaders of various international Christian ministries in Israel. Rolate Oy, under the ownership of Mr. Mauno and Kaija Rostamo from Finland, is an important donor through the Christian Friends of Yad Vashem. In the absence of the donors, Ms. Shavit Simons and Director of Christian friends of Yad Vashem Dr. Susanna Kokkonen, unveiled the plaque.
