Thursday: 9:00-20:00 *
Fridays and Holiday eves: 09:00-14:00.

Yad Vashem is closed on Saturdays and all Jewish Holidays.

* The Holocaust History Museum, Museum of Holocaust Art, Exhibitions Pavilion and Synagogue are open until 20:00. All other sites close at 17:00.

Official VE Day Ceremony at Yad Vashem Tomorrow

On Tuesday, 9 May 2017, the official state ceremony marking the Allied Victory over Nazi Germany (VE Day) will take place at Yad Vashem. The ceremony will begin at 16:00 at the plaza of the Monument to the Jewish Soldiers and Partisans on the Mount of Remembrance, Jerusalem. Among the dignitaries will be Israel's Minister of Immigration and Absorption Sofa Landver.

 

Hundreds of Jewish World War II veterans of the Allied armies, the majority from the Former Soviet Union, will also attend the ceremony, along with Jewish partisans, wounded soldiers from the war against the Nazis, underground fighters, volunteers from the Yishuv who fought in the British forces and veterans of the Jewish Brigade, as well as diplomatic representatives from the Allied countries.

Wreaths will be laid by Minister of Immigration and Absorption and the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, as well as representatives of the IDF, the Allied countries and fighter and partisan organizations. The Israel Police Orchestra, conducted by Mikhail Gurevich, will participate in the event together with soloists.
